With over twenty years of experience in the construction industry, I have honed my skills in Computer Aided Design, building codes and ordinances, and various construction methods. My portfolio includes a wide range of commercial and residential projects, all completed with a strong emphasis on compliance and quality. I have worked closely with clients and city or county officials throughout each project, ensuring all requirements are met or exceeded. My proficiency extends to using a variety of software tools for designing, modeling, and constructing different aspects of a building, including structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. I am adept at leading and collaborating with diverse teams, including engineers, architects, contractors, and clients, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Employed in the Construction industry for over 20 years. 

• Through extensive research and design, I have created drawing packages for ground-up or renovation drawing sets in Texas and Arkansas. 
• Commercial experience across various sectors including office spaces, office/warehouse combinations, restaurants, brewery, churches, and non-profit organizations . 
• Residential experience from 800 sf apartments, cottages, duplex, and single-family residences up to 12,200 sf. 
• Conceptual design to effectively incorporate client’s vision into both site and the building structure. 
• I have extensive experience in researching and interpreting building codes and applying these findings to project design and documentation. This expertise brings clarity and ensures compliance for clients, contractors, and inspectors. 
• Experience in defining occupancy loads, planning for fire and emergency egress, and implementing building sprinkling systems has been instrumental in ensuring the safety of the buildings I work on. 

Construction Management experience. 

• Ghant experience. Acquire contractor’s timeframe, organize trades into a critical path, and maintain schedule.
• Obtain quotes from all trades and combine them into a cohesive construction estimate. Track budgetary variances. 
• Inspect job site to ensure work is done properly, in a timely manner, and meets pay request percentages of work reported accomplished to the dollar amount being requested via invoice or pay application by contractors. 
• Produce project statements and invoices for clients from contractor invoices or pay applications. 
• Schedule inspections in a timely manner, meet inspectors, and discuss work. Remedy any shortcomings. 
• Troubleshoot any issues arising on job site from Owner, Contractor, or City input. Write change order to remedy issue and document effect on budget. 
• Document project from cradle to grave, keeping paper trail of all financial, scheduling/calendar, construction documents, warranty information, and as-built drawings. 

City or County submissions of permit packages, zoning packages, and platting packages. 

• Research specific city requirements to ensure smooth flow of project through the city. 
• Submit multiple projects into cities, tracking to ensure a timely permit issuance or zoning approval. 
• Work within any city department such as Building, Planning, Development, Fire, etc., to resolve project issues or comments in a non-confrontational manner that builds trust. 
• Experience serving on city Commissions or Committees.
• Six years on the Planning and Zoning Commission, including Chairmanship. 
• Six years on the Construction Code Board, including Chairmanship.
• Alternate on the Zoning Board of Adjustments Commission. 
• Experience on various commissions enables me to communicate with municipal contacts with clarity. 

Over 20 years’ experience in Computer Aided Design in multiple software applications. 

• Design experience and CAD teaching experience in Construction, Oil, and Aircraft industries. 
• Get quotes, acquire, and manage CAD equipment & software, or general office productivity software. 
• Installation and maintenance of both pc-based and mainframe-based CAD hardware & software. 
• Technical writing experience in the Aircraft industry for instruction manuals and testing procedures. 

• Strong knowledge of full range of Microsoft Office products. 
• Extensive use of Corel products such as PaintShop Pro and Word Perfect.
